In 1998 Neal Petrucci organized and hosted our first 90+ Luncheon. His vision was to seek out and honor people who had reached their 90th birthday. We had five honorees that year and members of our club chauffeured them to and from Treetops where they enjoyed a gala luncheon with their families.
We presented our guests with certificates and proclamations from our Mayor and other local officials. We read a bio of their life: all we asked is that they share with us their secret to longevity. For entertainment, we had a musician who played bells. The sound was original and very pleasing. Since then, the event has evolved to include Irish Step Dancing, a journal and raffle prizes. We continue to find new and inventive ways to honor our 90 plus.
We were proud of the outcome and did not realize then how this original and heartwarming idea would grow to eventually become our signature project. Neal passed away in 2003, two years shy of his own 90th birthday. We continue to honor his memory.
In 2022, we honored the following:
Louise Adamo, George Alesi, Ann Alexander, Marcia Bernstein, William Confalone, Lucille DeBellis, Sam Farber, Estelle Flammia, William Flammia, Ida Washington, Helen Lawrence, Betty Migdol, Mal Miller, Beverly Merrigan, Norma Pepchinski, Barbara Robinson, Barbara Rubinstein, Bob Rubinstein, Vincent Saporito
The Kiwanis Club of Sturgis Golden K, South Dakota, U.S., donated almost US$100 so that all students at Sturgis Williams Middle School could have a free breakfast. After all, it’s the most important meal of the day! #KidsNeedKiwanis... See MoreSee Less

Been to Sturgis about 4 times during motorcycle week quite a few years ago. We rode up from PA. One trip we did do the Rapid City Kiwanis motorcycle breakfast event and got invited to their lunch meeting dressed in our Harley riding gear. Just so happened it was a special lunch meeting with many members' wives attending. Some were a bit "shock & awe" with my wife in coveralls and a sleeveless Harley tee shirt. 🤣🤣🤣 Gave up riding Harleys some years ago but still in Kiwanis Club of Easton, PA after 44 years. Always proud of Kiwanis members with project about kids.
